Cultural Immersion

Hello friends,

Our team has now completed our second of many sessions in cultural immersion trainings. The organization Hillside Missions has been doing a great job explaining to us "Americans" how our culture shapes the way we will experience the culture in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

One thing has came our way that I wanted to pass on to anyone reading this post. Check out the book "Bruchko" for an inspiring story of a missionary in South America who brings the gospel to a village by living with them and placing the gospel into their culture.

Well I am off to get my shots and research Haitian Voodoo.

Our missions partners in Haiti

Shalom Baptist Church has developed a new partnership as our entire church body is working together to love and to serve New Hope Haiti Mission orphanage in Port au Prince, Haiti. Keep checking in on this site to keep up with the adventures of our exploratory team going in November. We will be building relationships with the children and the staff of the orphanage and looking for ways our church can help year round. We will also be sharing links to different websites and documents to give you the chance to learn about the orphanage, their needs in Haiti, and updates on our missions efforts between and during trips.
