i write as we are all feeling quite tired from a day of new cultural and spiritual experiences. balan is a village of immense need. no electricit, clean water, sufficient clothing and topped off wih poor agriculture.

none of us will ever forget the feeling of passing out beans and rice for 2000 people.

god was glorified and worship by some as they received aid.

and all ofhat for 1,200 us dollars.

lord thank you for this day of caring for the orphqns and the hungry. amen
on the road to balan. please pray for the road to be clear so we can pass out our truck of rice and beans

to our extended Shalom baptist church family,

as you have been reading in other posts to this blog our missions team to Haiti has been hard at work preparing and praying for our trip.

in november we were very excited to depart to the new hope haiti mission orphanage and serve them with gods love any way possible. well the bad news came a few days before departure that hurricane tomas along with the outbreaks of cholera were not going to allow us to go to Haiti. we have been praying for and communicating with the orphanage ever since november 2010.

today i post to yall to say that our new trip date of february 7-11, 2011 is being me with even more turmoil in Haiti. the country is in need of peace... as i write this there are growing political riots over the presidential elections and the final ballot that was released last night. the shalom team has been told not to come to he orphanage due to the dangers that all of the Haitins are facing this week and the week we will be landing. for more information on the riots and political situation in Haiti see the miami herald article link below...

thank you for your prayers, support, and love. stay tuned for a new trip date for shalom baptist church...
